Romola Davies

Romola Davies is a Freelance Colorist based in Berlin.
She comes from a German-British family of artists and musicians, so creativity and a sensitivity to nuance have always been a natural part of her life. She tends to look beneath the surface of things – and approaches images in much the same way.

As a colorist, she is interested in finding the visual language that feels unique to each story. She loves exploring what an image can become, understanding its atmosphere and emotional core, and finding the subtle choices that bring those qualities forward.

Her work ranges from natural and understated to cinematic and more stylized. She enjoys moving between these worlds and developing distinct looks, with an instinct for how far to take an image while maintaining a sense of balance and taste.

For her, color grading is much about feeling: shaping light, color, contrast and texture until everything comes together in a way that feels coherent and true to the project.
